| Did you know that Egyptian Cotton is considered the best in the whole world? Yes, its true. Anyone can see the difference between normal cotton and Egyptian one, broadly associated with quality products. However, I have seen most products bearing the name are not made with the finest cottons from Egypt and sometimes people complain that the perfect Egyptian cotton can not be found in Egypt. I need to disagree with this theory when I do have cotton from Egypt and Europe with me, I can touch both and see a huge difference. Another misconception is that there is no cotton production in Egypt and this is not true, what we have its that Egyptian cotton is classified into four types. Giza 86 and Giza 88 are of the highest quality and are cultivated in the Delta region. The other two types, Giza 80 and Giza 90, are planted in Upper Egypt and are of lower quality and the high quality its mainly for exportation, but it does not mean it can not be found in Egypt, that depends where you search for it. |
